Dr. Cal Spinks

Ed.D., LPC, NCC, BC-TMH

Dr. Cal Spinks brings more than 30 years of advocacy, mentorship, teaching, and clinical leadership to communities that have too often been unseen, unheard, or underserved. His work is grounded in resilience, cultural awareness, whole-person care, and the belief that every person deserves to be seen, valued, and supported.

Dr. Cal Spinks is a compassionate mental health professional, educator, mentor, and advocate whose career spans counseling, higher education, private practice, community mental health, and leadership.

His academic background includes a Bachelor's degree in Sociology, a Master's degree in Counseling, and a Doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision. This combination of education and professional experience allows him to approach behavioral health from both an individual and broader social perspective.

Dr. Cal's journey is deeply rooted in resilience and purpose. Having experienced adversity personally and professionally, he brings a meaningful understanding of what it means to move through hardship, rebuild, and develop greater clarity, strength, and self-awareness.

Born in an inner-city community, his life experiences exposed him early to many of the emotional, social, cultural, and systemic barriers that can affect individuals and families. Rather than allowing those experiences to define him, Dr. Cal transformed them into a foundation for advocacy, mentorship, education, and service.

Throughout his career, Dr. Cal has practiced, taught, supervised, and mentored within the counseling profession. His experience includes work in educational institutions, private practice, community-based mental health settings, and professional leadership.

His clinical interests include supporting individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, identity-related concerns, life transitions, and other emotional or behavioral health challenges. He has a particular commitment to working with marginalized and historically underserved populations.

Dr. Cal is especially known for providing culturally affirming care to individuals from diverse racial, cultural, and sexual backgrounds. His approach recognizes that a person's identity, history, environment, culture, relationships, and lived experiences all play an important role in mental and emotional wellness.

His counseling philosophy is client-centered and holistic. Rather than viewing people only through symptoms or diagnoses, Dr. Cal emphasizes strengths, resilience, personal meaning, and the ability to create change. His goal is to help individuals better understand themselves while developing the confidence and tools needed to move forward.

For communities of color and other historically underserved groups, Dr. Cal recognizes that healing can be personal, cultural, generational, and systemic. His work makes room for each of those realities while helping clients navigate challenges in ways that honor the fullness of their experiences.

Beyond his direct clinical work, Dr. Cal has remained deeply involved in mental health advocacy, clinical mentorship, professional education, and efforts to reduce stigma surrounding behavioral health care, particularly within communities of color.

As Founder and clinical leader of Quantum Behavioral Health & Wellness, Dr. Cal continues to promote an approach centered on dignity, cultural responsiveness, accessibility, community connection, and whole-person wellness.

Dr. Ebonie Davis

Behavioral Health Clinician

Dr. Ebonie Davis

Ed.D., LPC, NCC

Dr. Ebonie Davis supports adolescents, young adults, families, and school-based initiatives through a holistic, strengths-based approach grounded in empowerment, reflection, and accountability.

Dr. Ebonie S. Davis, Ed.D., LPC, NCC, is a Licensed Professional Counselor whose work reflects both clinical skill and deep humanity. With nearly a decade of experience in education and clinical counseling, she has dedicated her career to helping adolescents and young adults navigate complex life transitions while developing the emotional and academic skills needed to thrive.

Her philosophy is grounded in the belief that when people feel seen, supported, and encouraged to believe in their own capacity, healing and growth can follow naturally.

Dr. Davis uses a holistic, strengths-based approach that draws from humanistic, cognitive-behavioral, and solution-focused frameworks. She views each client as more than a diagnosis or circumstance and takes time to understand their environment, relationships, values, strengths, and individual experiences.

Her sessions emphasize empowerment, reflection, and accountability, creating space for clients to explore who they are and who they want to become. Whether helping a young adult work through anxiety and self-doubt or supporting a family as they rebuild connection after conflict, her goal is to help people strengthen resilience, self-awareness, and confidence.

One experience that continues to influence Dr. Davis's work involved a high school student struggling academically after multiple suspensions and family instability. Rather than focusing solely on behavior correction, she collaborated with the student's teachers and family to identify his strengths and develop a plan centered on structure, emotional regulation, and achievable goals.

Within six months, the student's grades improved, attendance became more consistent, and he began mentoring younger peers. For Dr. Davis, the experience reinforced the importance of relational trust, individualized care, and recognizing potential rather than focusing only on challenges.

Dr. Davis also draws from her own experience as a first-generation college graduate. Her journey through higher education included moments of uncertainty and isolation that now inform her empathy for students and clients who may feel unseen in academic or professional environments.

Those experiences helped shape her belief that resilience is often strengthened through connection and community. She brings that perspective into her counseling work by modeling authenticity and encouraging clients to recognize the value and strength within their own lived experiences.

Dr. Davis earned her Doctorate in Higher Education with a concentration in Educational Practices, a Master's degree in Professional and School Counseling, and a Bachelor's degree in Social Work. This multidisciplinary background allows her to bridge education, psychology, counseling, and social systems in her clinical practice.

Throughout her career, she has provided individual counseling, crisis intervention, and program development for diverse populations across cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.

Grounded in empathy, informed by evidence, and shaped by experience, Dr. Davis works to create spaces where clients feel safe enough to be honest, supported enough to explore difficult experiences, and challenged to continue growing.

She views therapy not only as a tool for relief, but also as a path toward discovering strength, purpose, resilience, and self-worth.
